I can't locate Urban Surf Kings version of the Quiet Surf. We'll be recording some new material in March, and may have a chance to rerecord it then.

I happened to see a NetFlix movie "The Hellcats" a while back (trashy biker movie notwithstanding) and noted that Richard A. Podolor is credited as the music producer for the movie. Would this be the same Richie Podolor in this thread I'm wondering and, if so, has he produced music for other movies?

Here is The Pyronauts doing Weird Wolf

The story with The Astroglides track:
We were tasked with recording "And Then There Were Drums", a song that I would hardly call a guitar song. Basically a big Sandy Nelson drum solo with some guitar chords before and after.
We were in the middle of working on our 3rd album, and we planned to record it with the live-to-2-tracks songs (there a few of those). Us two guitar players were busy with other things, and we tasked the bass player to come up with an arrangement. I think he did a good job on changing this song to make it more interesting. We didn't get a lot of time to practice it, and on top of it all, our big mouth vocalist/3rd guitarist decided to say something stupid to the label co-manager who was recoding us. Needless to say, that ended in a very stressed session, with no patience for trying to get some really good takes.

After this long story/disclaimer...I'll try my best to find the recording and post it here.

Hi guys, here's Enrico from The Bradipos IV, on 2003 we recorded our version of Room 304 for the Golly Gee Records compilation but that record was never released, so we're happy to share it with all of you. Here's the link:

Yes, the same! Richie did some soundtrack stuff as well. He arranged and produced the music for HELLCATS.

He also wrote this very cool fuzz-fueled theme for the film THUNDER ALLEY performed by Eddie Beram. Quentin Tarantino re-used this theme in his film DEATH PROOF. Check it out...

So, last night I'm perusing the brand new (March) issue of the Classic Rock magazine, with a cover story on Randy Rhoads (30th anniversary of his death is next month). Towards the end of the article about him, it talks about his post-Ozzy hopes and ambitions (he was planning on splitting from Ozzy once the tour was finished), and whose name catches my eye there? Ritchie Podolor! Check this out:

"Randy had also been in touch with Richie Podolor, former Steppenwolf and Three Dog Night producer and a renowned classical guitarist who'd studied with Andrews Segovia, and who'd agreed to let Randy take part in classical sessions with him."

Renowned classical guitarist who studied with Segovia???? That was news to me, but if true, pretty amazing!

Richie going for the Exotic/ or East LA sound?
maybe both at the same time,
what a pioneer.
