Permalink FS- Custom Gold Flake Strat like Object

New Topic

I'm putting up my beloved gold flake stratocaster, GOLDIE. I built it over 2 years of gathering parts between 2003-2005. The build design was to be a semi period correct, late 50's early 60's stratocaster, built like a custom hot rod with a supercharged, although original engine.

Body
: Warmoth Swamp ash
Finnish: Gold Flake
Neck: Birdseye Maple, Boat Profile
Fretboard: Ebony, very very dark almost no grain, but just enough to let you know its real ebony. 10" Radius, Stainless Steel Medium Frets.
Trussrod Dual Expanding
Pickups: Fender Custom Shop Fat 50's
Electronics: All switchcraft, vintage style cloth wiring, dual ground plates. 500k Pots with TBX split pot on lower tone control.
Tremolo: NOS Vintage style tremelo, Fender markings not Pat Pend. Aged quickly, No Backing plate or routed holes for plate. 5 Spring flush setup. Very solid and smooth trem action. Always stays in tune.
Pickguard 8 Hole B/W/B, all stainless hardware, white pickup covers, no volume knob (I hate them on strats!!) Black tone knobs.

There are no markings on the guitar's headstock, its completely blank, white klusson vintage tuners are on it, I also have aged stainless ones I could throw in

The guitar is not with me right now, so I'll post more close ups later on.

Its currently stored in a mixing studio for display only!

I've used this guitar hundreds of times live and was always treated like
gold. It has also been used on numerous recordings by The Robots and The
von Drats. Most notably on The von Drats 7" and CD (Dratsylvania) released in 2010.

Here are some action pics and vids and please check out
**www.myspace.com/therobotssurfband** for some more recordings of the guitar
in surf action. I REALLY want to keep this beast in the surf family since
she was built for surf!

Surprised Sigh with the lack of interest!

I'm just interested in why you're selling it? You sounded great with that guitar!

A steer on what you hope to get out of it ($) might help...

fady

To sell on here I'd part with it for $1200 with hard case plus shipping

This guitar is the Excalibur of surf guitar. Buy it, if you think you can wield its mighty power. Showman sold separately.

Are you not playing with either band anymore?

Jeff(bigtikidude)

The Robots still play once a season or so, mostly back home in Oshawa. We`re also a 4 piece now. I left the von Drats at the end of the summer last year.
