I've been listening to this record all week. It is really killer! I hope this band gets some serious recognition for the amount of originality and musical awesomeness that they put into this release.
Don't buy this if you are expecting a traditional surf record. You do still hear some surf influences like some double picking and the surf beat here and there. But buy it if you want to experience a very heavy and flawlessly executed psych-surf record. I can't even describe it. Just listen to their samples at their myspace and website. They are their own genre. Good luck to them! We need more original and creative bands like these guys. Not to mention hard working. Wow, have you seen their tour schedule? And please, by all means, go see them live. What a live show! Holy cats!

I just got my CD in the mail today
It will take me a while to get used to this arrangement of "Za Feijingu Supaidaa Kyoui", after listening to the earlier "Phasing Spider Menace" version for a few years.
Likewise, "Zombie Harem" is a tad different from the version that was on myspace, but it's still my favourite tune from Daikaiju. It's also still in my Lifetime (ie. 57 years) Top 100 Rock Tunes.
"Jellyfish Sunrise" - verra nice, never heard it before.
Good to see that "Shooting the Wormhole" made it.
Love the title. It sounds like a blend of Space (wormhole travel) and Surf ("shooting the curl/pipeline"). Was that intentional?

I'm planning on seeing them at the Dive Bar on 2/15. I'll buy a CD then and get to experience them live.

I keep bugging Dave Arnson of the the Insect Surfers that he needs to
resurrect his Acid Beach Party, mostly prog surf band show.
