Here's another great tune by pre-Beach Boys' Bruce Johnson and his crew. DEVIL DRIVER'S THEME by The Vettes.
Sax session ace Steve Douglas wrote this one and The Astronauts would later cover it. The album is from 1964 but for some reason in this clip they used footage from the 50's.

Here's another tune from sax session monster Steve "Shutdown" Douglas. This rockin' sax driven number features an insane fuzz solo and it was done in '63! Wait for it! And I'm pretty sure it's Billy Strange...

Check out this wild fuzz instro from 1966 Spacewalkers-The Invader. Wild even by Davie Allan standards...

Fuzzgun 91 reminds me of the Bomboras.
That Space Walkers fuzz tune is a good find!

A great Fuzz/Surf band from the 90's that no one ever seems to talk about is The Vice Barons. I loved these guys when they were around. Gotta say I miss them!

It's not surf, or an instrumental, but it's been mentioned on this forum before... The Electric Prunes, "Too Much To Dream", has awesome fuzz (with tremolo).

Not instrumental, but very fuzzy. Love the note bending at the very end. Blew my mind as a 13 year old.

Indeed, that album has some great intrumentals
featuring fuzz! Check out the tune, "Jersey Channel
Islands Pt.7"...
I love this song! This tune has got some of the most wild and savage sounds ever committed to wax. That fuzz fueled sax solo is insane. Someone needs to do a decent cover of this one. So badass!

Appreciate the sneak peek; sounding good, Klas! I've always liked how you bring the killer kazoo buzz and mix it up with catchy melody as the Angry Breed.
Great news about the split EP too.

Sounds great, Klas. You nailed the fuzztone and organ sound of that biker era stuff perfectly! Looking forward to hearing more.

A really great comp series featuring mid-to-late 60's Fuzz instrumentals is BUZZ, BUZZ, BUZZ Vol.1 and 2.
Here's a great track from Vol. 2... Fireball by Mercy. Very Davie Allan-esque.

Sick! Thanks for posting that video, Norm. Not only does the fuzz stuff sound like, Davie but his choice of notes as well. I wonder if this track was influenced by The Arrows? Sounds awesome!
Oh, also yeah, those Vice Barons tracks are pretty dope. I like that band but practically know nothing of them. I searched for them online and the top result is that thread that you started on them. Great band.

I've posted this somewhere here before, but here's 2 incomplete fuzz monsters that I'm working on:
Mean Streets; http://soundcloud.com/abe88/mean-streets-by-abraham
Booze, Broads and Bikes!; http://soundcloud.com/abe88/booze-broads-and-bikes
BTW, "Booze, Broads and Bikes" would be a great title for an all Instro Fuzz compilation. One day maybe. Hmm...

Fuzz gems to say the least, would it help to say that my spin off band is named Fuzzy All The Time, in honor of the bass players eratic shaving/creative beard growing hobby?
