This is weird. I literally listened to this album yesterday and thought "damn this is a good album! It doesn't get enough love."

Crazy 0.o

Last I heard Burt was back in Norway playing with the Mobsmen.

Yeah I heard that too.
Another great band that doesn't get much discussion on here.

I'll also agree on this, though I really don't care for their vocal tunes. That said, their instro stuff is fantastic!!

I heard was with the Beat Tornados, one of my all time favorite modern surf bands

Burt Rocket is a friend of Fred Lammer's - we talked about him when Fred was visiting California from Norway recently and Fred mentioned that he is with the Mobsmen now. Have always liked Savage Iceland, played many times by me and others on KFJC.

Hmmm, I wonder if Fred's brother Max's girlfriend Anita was confused about which band he was in. She told me The Beat Tornados. And that was 3 or 4 mai tais into a good time Very Happy

Gee, Danny, maybe you are not the only one who is in more than one band?

Hi folks!

To clear up the confusion: I´m playing in all the bands mentioned above + a couple more:

The Mobsmen: Organ & electric piano
Torqueflite (with Max): Organ
Beat Tornados: Bass
Baja Bug: Guitar & organ
And occasionally I´m sitting in on organ and guitar with Los Plantronics.

No more Iceland for me, I´m living in Oslo now Smile

As Sean has mentioned in another post, Double Crown Records will release a new Burt Rocket album this spring. This time Dave Klein (Bomboras) is playing the drums. The title of the album is "Fiberglass Frenzy"

As usual Fred will make sure the album design is as boss as ever.

Baja Bug - The Surf Will Rise Again - out now!

Really looking forward to it!

Excellent news on the new Burt Rocket album!

How active are the Beat Tornados these days? I love that band!

This is great. Your last solo release still gets a lot of stereo time at my place. Looking forward to it!

I look forward to this with a lot of anticipation. I liked the first record immensely. And Fred's covers are wonderful! I wonder what he'll come up with for this one?

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

Bravo! Yes
Great news.

Brian: Beat Tornados are not very active at the moment, but we have recorded half an album last year. Hopefully we´ll be able to record the rest of it this year. However it will be more of a Hawaiian/exotica album.

As for my own project, I really haven´t put together a backing band yet, but I guess I´m going to have to, at least for the release party.
