Yes, Dellamorte Dellamore is lot's of fun. Gets really weird at the end. Also love Shock Waves. Dare I say the best film about aquatic Nazi Zombies? And the film Zombie does contain an aquatic zombie battling a shark. What was Fulci thinking? Downright weird. Based on the popularity of Jaws no doubt. And speaking of Jaws... not a Halloween movie but scary nevertheless. How many people do you know that couldn't go into the sea after watching that film?

Any movie with an ossuary in it is cool by me.

It's actually a good system, I don't understand why it isn't popular anymore.

If you have not read World War Z, there is a chapter where deep sea divers are disposing of zombies during a "cleansing" period after the zombie apocalypse... very f*cking creepy. If this story were adapted to a screenplay, it has the potential to be the greatest zombie movie ever, IMHO.

Also American Werewolf in London is fuckin' badass. I love the transformation. And just overall it's a great movie. Another one of which I should buy.

Agreed. For some reason, that movie tormented me when I was a kid.

Yes! American Werewolf!! This single film shaped what I do for a living, (creature FX), more than any other film. Another milestone. In the eighties, AWL, The Howling and The Thing rocked my world!

BTW, I love It the Terror from Beyond Space. And yes, Jack stars in The Terror with Boris Karloff. In fact, any movie with the word terror in it is cool with me, lol!

Yeah, I just watched it last night to make sure if it was the same movie I was thinking of. Jack's wife/co-star is a real Babe. And also I completly forgot that Boris Karloff was in that one haha. Is it me or was Jack's character "Andrea" a complete asshole to everyone in the movie from the old woman to the the Baron? Laughing

I haven't seen The Holwling yet but I had heard that it was really good. I actually can't wait to see The Wolfman w/Benicio Del Toro. I think it might be pretty good. I just hope that as the Wolfman he actually rips people's throats apart instead of choking them to death like in the original w/Lon Chaney Jr haha.

Ryan, An American Werewolf in London scared the hell out of me as a kid as well. Especially his buddy, what was his name? Jack or something like that. Everytime he would come back even more decomposed and deformed, Great stuff.

The Deadbeats

Just watched Drag Me To Hell last night. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Black Christmas - my mom and I have this weird holiday ritual of watching this movie...not around Halloween, but Christmas.

Being a Halloween kid, I'm enjoying this thread a lot and have made a list. Some of these movies I'd never even heard of.

One movie that I've always liked in the sci-fi vein that scared the schnot outta me the first time I saw it was "Event Horizon." Anybody else like this one?

The Mystery Men?
El Capitan and The Reluctant Sadists

I don't feel quite as abi-something now... I've done that for years, and got my wife into that tradition too around ten years ago. Merriment-overdose I guess. Laughing

hell it would take me awhile to go thru the menu and write them all down.
mix of really old stuff, and some movies from 70's 80's

I do that with Nightmare before Christmas.
well I watch it from Halloween to X-mas.
of course its a bit more obvious in the crossover appeal.
and I just really dig Danny Elfman's score for that.
the one thing that kind ruins it for me, it Jack's singing voice is Danny,
but the speaking voice is somebody else.
wish they would go back and have Danny do the speaking parts.

And speaking of Italian horror flicks, give Cemetery Man (aka. "Dellamorte Dellamore") a watch if you haven't already. Weird, very dark, funny, great cinematography... it has it all. I've seen it several times and still love it.

Scariest flicks ever:

  • Ridley Scott's "Alien"
  • John Carpenter's "The Thing"
  • "The Ring" (American version)

and, speaking of Italian Horror flicks which, guess it, I'm a great fan:

  • "La Casa Dalle Finestre Che Ridono" aka "The House with Laughing Windows" directed by Pupi Avati (truly terrifying, check it !)
  • "Profondo Rosso" aka "Deep Red" directed by Dario Argento

I think that the 1st "Masters of Horror" TV movies contains some terrific flicks, it's the last thing I saw that really scared me to death !!!

"We're gonna draw a little bit of everybody's blood 'cause we're gonna find out who's THE THING"

Bump! 10 days till All Hallow's Eve, definately time for the spooky movie count down to begin. Who has new contributions to the list?

Maybe not the scariest, but definitely gnarly gore in my book.........The "SAW" movies......Especially #6.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but "High Tension" is a great scary thriller.

Another solid pick is "Cold Prey".

I've been getting into classic horror quite a bit. I've recently watched Black Sabbath, Suspiria, and Die Monster Die. Great stuff!

I recently watched The She Beast starring the lovely Barbara Steele (although she isn't present that much). The first half hour or so was pretty interesting but after that it started to go boring fast. So, not really a recommended watch but still cool to have in the collection.

I love, love, love that movie poster though, boring movie or not. I know she may not be everybody's cup of tea but Barbara Steele is just the ultimate to me. She is thee most!

I tried watching Suspiria recently; gave up on it after 30 minutes. What am I missing, besides patience?

Well for one, the music is awesome and creates some pretty incredible tension. Other than that, I like the way the film is shot and it has that 70s Italian hip coloring/angling that I really like. Other than that, I just dig the movie's premise I guess:

_A newcomer to a fancy ballet academy gradually comes to realize that the staff of the school are actually a coven of witches bent on chaos and destruction. _
