a listener of my podcast is selling this incredible looking teisco, thought folks here might appreciate it.

It's cool but $990 shipped is a bit steep.

Squink Out!

what do you think a fair price is for one of these, the only instance of one selling that my podcast listener was able to find was over $1000

I have a Sekova, made by Kawaii/Teisco and it has the same exact pickups, bridge, and crappy tailpiece. These guitars look great and sound pretty cool but they are cheap guitars and not worth $900, unless you just can't live without it. I paid under $300 for mine and I think it was too much, but I wanted that ting because of the way it looked. It spends most of its life now in a closet awaiting yet another wiring problem to be fixed. You could buy a very nice guitar for $900.

I have an absolute fetish for old Japanese junk guitars and I say 300-350 is fair for that. Depends on how warped it is or isn't.
