The Looney Tunes - Beyond the Dune.
Very interesting album, but a bit strange. That was probably a bit ahead of its time. If you released something like this today, people would in all likelyhood rave about this combination of classic surf sounds with the intensity and noise of alternative rock.

Interesting. Why do you think it is a bit strange?
Where do you hear noise of alt. rock???

For me this is a very cool surf album with an incredible sound.
AND with good songs!
Please notice that this album sounds good on your regular hifi. Sounds bad with little computer speakers.

I had "Das Ergotaxion" in mind in particular, but there are also some weird sounds and some feedback in some of the other songs, although less prominent.
And I didn't say, that I don't like it, quite the contrary.

Wow - Havent heard anyone mention Cactus in years.... caused me to go through the "C" section of the record rack and now I have the Clash "London Calling" playing
S'matter- couldn't find your copy of One Way or Another? Kidding of course. I like the Clash. Lost in the Supermarket would be in my all time top 20. Still... Cactus's version of Long Tall Sally? Blow the cones out of my speakers baby!

While I just picked it up, I'm blown away. In my opinion, one of the best albums in some time. I Love You, Honeybear by Father John Misty.

Its reverb day at work today! Now listening to Mysteriis Alienis Mundi by the Taikonauts.
This album is so bad ass. IMO, its one of the best releases in recent surf history. If you dont have it, get it!
