As a rockabilly/psychobill addict for many years I always wanted to try the upright bass for my surf band and we even had some funny jams with it while playing on 'billy parties and festivals Waikiki Makaki surf-rock band from Ukraine New Single is out! https://waikikimakaki.bandcamp.com/album/rhino-blues-full-contact-surf-single Waikiki Makaki https://linktr.ee/waikikimakaki Lost Diver https://lostdiver.bandcamp.com |

I saw the Aqua Velvets a few weeks back. They had an upright bass player. The instrument was narrow, not wide like the one above. |

We played a small cafe in a local market recently. Drums would have really pushed the volume level up too loud, so our drummer used his bongos and congas; bass player played his standup with just a little help from a small amp. I used a Princeton Reverb, other guitar player something around that size. I was very happy with our overall sound and mix, and we got good reviews and asked back. |
