On 1988 we start Who Stole The Summer? Records and had 3 releases, ULTRA 5, garage from NYC and PINK FLOWERS from Belgium.

Then we started Green Cookie on 2000 after returning to GREECE from studies etc...

Them Cossack guys, here on the laptop, as I ponder what kind of speaker to go in a new amp.

That's my favorite Cure album/comp, and one of my fave albums of all time! Freaking amazing

Shocked Fantastic! Love that album, especially Souvlaki Station and When the Sun Hits. Saw them on that tour, too, in '94, I think. An incredible show - no showmanship, just the sheer power and beauty of the music moving your soul.

Right now I'm listening to a drum track for a new Crazy Aces song that I just played and recorded and I'm realizing how far I've come on drums and it makes me smile.
I certainly wouldn't call myself a drummer but this performance will work for this new song and it's going to be fun.

Cheers,
Jeff

I never got to see them in the 90s, unfortunately. You're very lucky!! But I did just see them in LA in November. Yeah, not really much showmanship, but the sheer power/beauty of that sound of theirs gave everyone goosebumps for like 90 minutes. Great show! Rachel and Neil are working on new material this month, which hopefully means a new album later this year. Exciting!!!

Oh, and When The Sun Hits is one of my favorite songs of all time. I can listen to it on repeat!

Its funny, I thought I was the only one. Most of my generation of surf fans were more into metal (tons of Iron Maiden fans here) than post-punk/new-wave/alternative. Its nice to know some fellow alternative & surf fans Smile

As for what I am listening to RIGHT NOW... El Ray - The Evil Mermaid!!!

El Raynia! Uber Alles!

I wasn't able to see them this last tour. I guess I'm not so lucky after all!

Yep. The bass player in my band at that time (shoegazing stuff) had a religious experience at that show, he really was deeply impacted by it.

Rachel and Neil are working on new material this month, which hopefully means a new album later this year. Exciting!!!

Excellent!

Yep, their best song hands down!

Can't one be both? I was a metal fan from '82 till '89, and then a big alternative/shoegazing fan from '90 (and a little bit before) until '95 (when I switched to surf, and never looked back!). I saw the Cure live in Vancouver, Canada in the summer of '92, and that was an INCREDIBLE show, one of the very best I have ever seen. They were at the very peak of their powers at that point, very influenced by the shoegazing stuff going on then, so really pushing the heavily-effected and distorted guitars to the forefront. The Cure are an amazing band.

As for what I am listening to RIGHT NOW... El Ray - The Evil Mermaid!!!

Whoo-whooo! Thumbs Up One of my very favorites from last year.
