In the MMM program, the video labeled "Nitro" is actually "Holiday in Cambodia" by The Dead Kennedys.

Under "Artistas" in the M category.

Oh man, it's so great to see the Twangs of Marvel again!

Your welcome, for the very small part I played. Alex had just recently shared the Brazilian channel's videos on his Facebook page when I saw Ivan's post about them. So I linked to them here. Ivan added them to his YouTube Channel. I might have, if I had a YouTube account and a channel to put them, but I don't.

None of this would have happened if Alex hadn't sent me a Facebook Friend request, from which I am still in shock, and for which I am deeply and eternally grateful.

What an amazing band and incredible musicianship! Love their strong Spanish influence. The first cut is especially awe inspiring. Bravo!

I must say that's the problem with the label "surf". While these guys do play surf songs, so many of their tunes are so much broader than what that label allows. Much of this stuff is like classical guitar music. I enjoy all of their stuff but I actually prefer when they stray away from what is easily labeled as a surf song.

Haha! Ivan, remember our conversation about the label "surf". Their should really be something else... and the word Instro isn't great either. I'm not talking about broadening the definition. There is without a doubt stuff that easily fits the label. But the label has a stigma that's hard to shake, know what I mean? And its not always a good stigma.

Interestingly enough I remember that, when I posted the original video link on the german Surfmusic Forum, some people meant the music would be quite "limited" and would even get a bit boring over the course of the whole concert.

But we had a bit of a discussion and in the end they realized they were simply wrong. Yes Yes Yes

"Postcards from the Scrapyard" Vol. 1, 2 & 3 NOW available on various platforms!
"Chaos at the Lobster Lounge" available as LP and download on Surf Cookie Records!

According to Alex, there are licensing issues to resolve, but he said he'd look into whether it's possible to release this concert on DVD. That will be wonderful.
