El Supernaut and the Lunatics from Finland - for the fans of astounding guitar playing, gobs of metal in their surf/instro and just great songs! —Ivan |

Eric Clapton or Derek and The Dominos, the Layla album. ... count me as having a new found appreciation for this guy's music. A top guitarist and sometimes great songwriter. I always thought 'meh' about his solo stuff, but as I get older I realize he's so much better than most guitar slingers out there. (add Duane Allman to that I suppose since he also played on Layla) —Plus! Other stuff not surf: https://soundcloud.com/jamesmileshq Last edited: Apr 22, 2014 11:03:46 |

The final master, mastered by Glenn Brown (who has worked with Kid Rock, Frank Sinatra, Kenny Rogers, Iggy Pop, Ted Nugent, Nazareth, Cub Koda, Chuck Berry, among many others). Sounds rockin'! Ready for the presses! —Ivan |

Dude! Yes! I'm super excited to hear this thing. You guys are such a great band with an amazing catalog that the thought of hearing what you guys are doing live is just an incredible exciting prospect. |

Thanks very much, Jake! I must say that I'm absolutely 'chuffed to bits' (to borrow a British-ism!) with the performances in particular - they have great energy and an edge that I think all good live albums should have, where it's a bit dangerous and things could fall apart at any moment, players really pushing themselves to their absolute limits as musicians. That's what it sounds like to my ears, which is like capturing lightning in a bottle - it's always quite a risk embarking on a project like this. Tommy Schicthel's (the Concussions) production is warm and appropriately raw in places, too. I'm just really happy and excited about this record! (And damn, didn't Stephen Blickenstaff really outdo himself with this amazing artwork??? Holy crap!) —Ivan |

It's all recorded live, and it has two new originals (previously unrecorded), five covers, three of which previously unrecorded by us (Dick Dale's Night Rider, the Fender IV's Everybody Up!, and Los Relampagos' Macarena), and the remaining 12 songs are the originals from our first three albums. We tried to mix it up. I think it's a nice retrospective of our first 10 years together. —Ivan |

Yes, indeedy!!! Tommy's (Schichtel, of the Concussions) recording and production are so amazing, though, they could almost pass for studio recordings! (The same applies to the rest of the album.) —Ivan |

I just discovered Sandy Nelson the drummer (I don't know why it took so long to find this guys music) and been listening to lots of his stuff - wow, I like this type of music (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iwg4NjwMYVY) —'Surf Music Lasts Forever' |
