Oh yuck... Takes away the best feature of the Jazzmaster... And that burst/pickguard combo is nasty. Last edited: Jun 29, 2012 22:13:54 |

Yeah, that's the POS that's been out for a while. They'd be better if they'd put a real tailpiece on them instead of a stamped piece of sheet metal —Shawn Martin |

Drumitar, You might want to hold off. I hear on other forums a lot of buzz about the new Squier Classic Vibe offset series that is coming out. That will include a Jazzmaster, Jaguar and Mustang to the Classic Vibe series. The Classic Vibe Strats are pretty decent. The pictures floating around of the new Classic Vibe offsets make them look tempting. Talk to you later, |

I wasn't planning on buying one of these, but the Jag, JM, and Mustang that will be coming out will actually be Vintage Modifieds, not CVs. I'm not sure how they arrived at putting them in the VM series. I already have a Jag and a partsJazzmaster, although I still may get a JM or Mustang. — Shawn Martin |

Hello again, I looked at the Fender website. Those are the offset series. They are actually Vintage Modified and not Classic Vibe. This topic has been discuxxsed since at least February on several other forums. They all had it wrong. It was not going to be Classic Vibe. I stand corrected. I compared the photos from this forum Time to start looking for a surf green Jaguar. Later, |

Take care with the preorders as these, VM Jazz are called Vintage Modified, too. —Every word is like an unecessary stain on silence and nothingness. |

When I found out that an affordable Jaguar would be coming down the pike, I was totally stoked! However, close examination of the bridge close up photos on the JM showed what appears to be a USA sized bridge, on a narrow string spacing Squire (probably a prototype JM thrown together for a pre-release photo shoot). The entire Squire line up till now has had a narrower string spacing than their Fender counterparts. I tried very hard to get used to this cruel joke on a CV Strat that I bought, but to no avail. My caveman meat hooks need more room for error, especially when double picking, or any fast picking. I'm 99% sure that the Squire offset line will have this same issue. So,it doesn't matter to me how pretty or inexpensive they are, if they are not player friendly for me, I will keep on playing my refin Highway One Strat. You may want to decide if this is an issue for you before pre ordering. Just sayin'. I can't play this thing! It's got no whammy bar! |

That's an issue! But I believe on a Jag/Jazz you can replace the bridge if you want. —Every word is like an unecessary stain on silence and nothingness. |
