I am super stoked about these shows. I was going to wait to make a post until I got the flyer together etc., but I am too excited.
The Madeira w/ the Exotics at Kochanski's Concertina Beer Hall in Milwaukee on Saturday, 6/16/12. 2 Stages, fantastic beer selection.
There will also be a Madeira, Exotics, Cocktail Preachers show in Chicago on 6/15/12, but I do not know the details of that. This will be a historic Midwestern Surf Blowout! I am sure that Ivan, and Steve can provide more info.

Be sure to whine to those two bands about how AMAZING your Instro Summit show was, and that they're SO lame preferring to go to stupid California for that dumb ol' SG 101 Convention

It's gonna be EPIC!!! Can't wait to play with the Exotics again, it's been way too long! And on their home turf, no less (never been to Milwaukee before, really looking forward to that). And to be playing with the Preachers AND the Exotics in Chicago will just take the whole thing over the top! Whoo-whoo!

Oh, Dangit. I thought Ivan had started this thread, not Jon! Sarcasm doesn't work well when you're addressing the wrong person.

No worries Cousin Crispy. The Exotics are dying to get back to North Carolina. We really wanted to get to the Instro Summit this year. California was our excuse too.
One of the first gigs we did with Ivan, during the Space Cossacks days, was at Sleazefest (96 or 97). Somewhere I have some really cool photos of Ivan and Catherine in Chapel Hill, as well as some from a show or two in Washington D.C. and maybe another.
On a similar note, the first gig that we ever did in St. Louis was with the Bent Scepters and the Civil Tones (Featuring Chris Bess aka Cousin Crispy). I think at the Mid Coast music festival 1996. For those of you not in the know Cousin Crispy was also at ground zero in the 90s Americana movement lending his prowess to the might Uncle Tupelo Sauget Wind single. He actually learnt me the correct pronunciation of Sauget at one of our many S.C.O.TS./Exotics gigs.
Those days are a bit fuzzy now, someday I will have to upload some of those tour photos of from the 90s.

On June 15th in Lynwood, I will bring my new Quilter MicroPro 200. I don't know of anyone else in the area that has one at this time.
You are welcome to check it out. I first saw it at Deke's Guitar Geek Festival in CA this year.

Good one, Bruce! Good to see you here, too.
So, the Exotics and the Madeira will be setting up on two different stages, each band playing two sets, swapping back and forth. For our first set, we decided to once again play Tribal Fires in its entirety. Hope that somebody wants to actually hear that!
Really looking forward to it - just a week away now! And six days to Chicago!

I may actually get to this one. It's not far, and when I mentioned possibly not going, my wife made some crack about me being too old to stay up late. Depends on how fearsome the kiddies are being that day.
I suppose I gotta see if my SG101 shirt is clean, so I can be recognized.

Just a bump on these. Anyone besides jp and IvanP going to be there Sat.? Brian? Anyone? I'm still kinda planning on making the drive over from Mad-town.
No offense to the Cocktail Preachers (who I'd love to see), but there's no way for me to get to the ass end of the Chi-town burbs on a Fri. night.
