So, I thought in this thread we could keep track of the surf releases coming out this year. I was shocked to see the list of 2011 releases at the end of the year, and I'm still catching up with that (the Dangermen and the Vision have been particular favorites), though there's no way I'll ever fully catch up. 2011 was a truly amazing year for surf. Let's see how 2012 stacks up!

Anyway, here's what I've got so far:

CDs:

The Bambi Molesters: A Night In Zagreb (though I think this may have been a late '11 release)
The Coconauts: Get Coco-Naughty
Los Kahunas: 7 Mares
The Madeira: Tribal Fires
The Phantom Four: Morgana
The Pyronauts: Play for Surf
Rev. Hank: Longhorn
Radical Waves comp
Zombie Surfers

CD-EP:

Moterreys

7":

Mike Barbwire: S.O.S. Rock'n'Roll (El Sotano Calling)
The Twang-o-Matics: Get Hip With...

I know of a few releases on the way, including the new Frankie & the Pool Boys and the full-length debut by Bang! Mustang! Double Crown will be releasing new CDs by the Concussions and Bonney & Buzz soon, too. So, what else? What have a I missed?

Edit - other upcoming releases:
The Mariners: Demon Surf

Thanks, Jack and Noah. I meant to include the Coconauts, but they somehow slipped my mind. Sorry.

Anything else?

Ted over at Deep Eddy has a handful of other releases this year as well, including the Radical Waves Compilation that came out back in April. Kill,Baby...Kill! will hopefully be turning in our first full-length to him before the end of this year, but it will probably be an early 2013 release.

We aim to release the new Los Fantasticos album, The Devil Went Down To George Street, in September, or thereabouts.

Los Fantasticos

Wasn't there also a 3-way split on Deep Eddy this year that included The Man from Ravcon?

Wow, they have been mentioned here on SG101 a bit recently.
If I am not mistaken, it is 1 or some of the guys from Huevos Rancheros.

Jeff(bigtikidude)

I highly recommend the new King Pelican ep, entitled The Good, The Bad, and The Reverb. Great tunes, great sound. I think you can get it at Deep Eddy.

Wow, really? Like BTD was saying, it's the guy from Huevos Rancheros but much fuller and tougher. While the new one's still pretty great, I'd go for Avanti or Vista Cruiser County Squire. Very dry, nearly western sound but really brilliant sounds and ideas. Based on some of the other things I know you like, I think you'd be pretty into it. They're on my very short list of favorites, really a cut above.

What about "Blind" Rage And Violence: The End Of Rock And Roll? Maybe not strictly surf (very Link Wray-ish), but mostly instro and way cool Cool

Los Straitjackets' 'Jet Set' will be out on August 7th. Messer Chups' 'Surf Riders From the Swamp Lagoon' is credited as a 2012 stateside release, but might have been out last year in Russia. I can never really tell with Messer Chups.
