Here is something brand new to chew on, for those explicitly wanting a pedal or not quite ready to get the 6G15 unit:

Digitech press release

SSIV

Looks interesting! Thanks for sharing...will check it out. And again, I bet no one will play surf when they release the 'introductory video' Big Grin

The Hicadoolas

OK, I am a bit of a 'foot gazer' these things looks cool, to be able to change the pedal, neat.
Has anyone actually player one? Especially the new spring reverb?

'Surf Music Lasts Forever'

Oh, I got this wrong. This is just a plugin?

The Hicadoolas

I checked the web sites. New concept. Its a single pedal/stomp box that you can download different effects to. Like installing a new app on your ipad, only one effect at a time though. Cool idea
Now I just use a Boss RV-5 digital reverb, which is pretty good for straight reverb (only on the hall or plate setting, the spring setting is rubbish) I will get a Fender reverb tank one day, nothing like that 'wet sound'

Wow! That's a fantastic & innovative product idea. Love that they have "try & (then) buy" - at least that's what the advertising video says.

$150 for the iStomp case, and a growing number of pedal models for $6.99 - $9.99 a pop (some for $0.99, some for $0.00) in-app purchases. Pretty compelling offer.

Maybe even more so if they bundled a muli-pedal price break - 1 for $150, 2 for $290, 3 for $400 or whatever ( Hmmm Hmmm.. where's that hiring requisition for product manager)

Fady

El Mirage @ ReverbNation

I took a look at this last time I was in a guitar center. It really is a genius idea. I was wondering about the prices of the apps, but Fady cleared it up.

Now, if Fender can figure out a way to put their Amplitube 63 Reverb algorhythm in app form for this...mmmmmmm...mmmm

Damn. These days it seems you can't play guitar if you don't have an iPhone Whatever

Old punks never die... They just become surf rockers.

Well, at least you don't have to get the pedal d/l via Facebook! That'd be two (or more) strikes against me... Uh-Oh Back to the basement.

I suppose this is the logical consequence of the FPGA movement. No chips, just chip emulators.

... Wait, somebody just texted me on my pedal. I can't tap my toes and play at the same time.

Not for me. It doesn't have the warmth of an authentic "hard" pedal.

i think for me the attraction isnt to have a pedal that would be the core of my tone, but to have something flexible that i can use like a 'swiss army knife' where it has tons of tools even though none of them are really super good examples of that tool

i don't use modulations very often but every now and then i find myself thinking 'i could really use a (insert random modulation) right now" i don't want to have to lug around a phaser, flanger, chorus, auto wah,etc when im only going to really use one of those at once and maybe only a few times during a gig

Hobbyists have a new piece of gear that will be obsolete in a couple years to debate the tonal/ease of use advantages of.

I can see it being a useful and inexpensive studio tool if they get some licensed apps for it.
