JUST GOT BACK FROM ELVIS COSTELLO AND THE IMPOSTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!

were they all dressed just like him?

Jeff(bigtikidude)

did elvis play mostly older stuff? i saw him a few years ago and was very disappointed in the show. he played very little off his first few albums.

He hit every era. It was the Spinning Wheel show, so a very random setlist not very heavy on the "hits" or my favorite songs of his, but I still loved it.

Also, my friend and I who went were really influenced by his guitar playing at the gig. He plays the hell out of a Jazzmaster, next to Nels Cline he is one of the best players of that specific guitar. I was shocked that he played/sounded so different between his tele/strat/Les Paul and the Jazzmaster.

Been feeling in an eclectic mood the last few days:

Just saw Jeff Mangum, absolutely amazing. Sincere.

You should give it a spin again, Carol. I listened to it again last night, just a fantastic album, though it sounds a bit dated due to the production, the songs still stand the test of time.

I went to college and worked in college radio with Jeff Mangum and some of the Elephant 6 Collective. Back then, they were all pretty talented and show it in their various musical projects, but I had no idea that they would become as successful as they did.

Laura and Andrew of Elf Power opened with some other guy. Not sure if you knew them.

Jeff looked real good and interacted with the crowd very well. I wasn't sure what to expect, he has gained a reputation as very reclusive in the past decade.

I recently acquired this album through my surf CD addiction pusher/enabler (BTD) and WOW! What a shocker! Didn't know a thing about it or them and the album is amazing!!!

Guilty as charged, and proud of it,
and yeah it is a great cd.
I was as surprised as JP.

I never met the Elf Power group. I went to LA Tech with Jeff Mangum, Will Hart, Robert Schneider (his father was one of my architecture professors), Bill Doss, and Scott Spillane (knew him since high school).

I know an album w/ some vocal's may get a Whatever 'round here, but if'n that's you, you're missing out. I continue to enjoy the energy and vibe of this whole album. Need a lil' pep in your step today? Check this out. Enjoyed another spin myself en route to the jay-oh-bee today.
