This is actually something I've been noticing a bit lately.. People who don't seem to understand what surf music is (not)... and they'll call anything they play 'surf' just 'coz it's a trendy retro label to put on music at the moment. I don't pretend to fully understand how 'surf music' is ('completely') defined (even after some years buzzing around sg101, together with being a child in the '60s)... and although I sometimes think I get a 'flavour' of TheSound(tm) in my playing, some of these folk just seem to be stoned or something to be calling what they play 'surf music'.
