I think these are two of the coolest guitars I've ever seen. For that reason alone, Fender will probably scrap them.

So Fender finally came up with a new body shape? Still, I agree they're really cool looking guitars, especially the black one. Looks like they revived the (old) Marauder concept of concealing the pickups under the pickguard. Much more interesting than any of the models of the Modern Player series in my opinion. EDIT: a bit of digging brought up this other Fender prototype (yes, it's a Fender): So Fender is copying not only Aria now, but BC Rich too??? —Old punks never die... They just become surf rockers. Wow everyone's copying Aria, including Aria!

Cool indeed. See no pickups, a return to the famed "hidden" pickups of the old Marauder? |

Though crowd. The black one with the hidden pickups has pickups made with high energy neodymium magnets. Just a little dab 'll do ya. —Cats 'n' Strats, 'cause that's how I roll - I eat reverb for breakfast! Fenderus Collecticus |

Man, that is so non-Surf. Although it does kind of remind me of something I ate once at Red Lobster. EDIT: In a way, that kind of reminds me of the Fender Performer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ShbWhTH3N0 —Cats 'n' Strats, 'cause that's how I roll - I eat reverb for breakfast! Not only did they hide the pickups on the black one, they hid the pickguard screws too! |
