Might be worth checking out?

FENDER EXCELSIOR

METEOR IV on reverbnation

That Excelsior reminds me of the Ampeg amps. Fender seem to be pulling out all the stops these days with their latest range of amplifiers. There's also a Machete amp for the shredders and a Greta practice amp for the retro crowd.

They're even getting into the floor POD processor category with the new Mustang Floor model.

It certainly looks cool. Looking forward to checking them out in person.

Cats 'n' Strats, 'cause that's how I roll - I eat reverb for breakfast!

I'm really curious about this amp. It looks great and I love what I've read about it. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. On the whole I'm pretty impressed with the new stuff Fender has coming out this year. Now if only they'd scale back the prices of their AVRI guitars...then I'd really be happy!

Looks cool to me... any idea on the US street price?

$300-400 ?

Not bad, looking forward to hearing samples.

I really like this one below it

Finally, with all the mountains of black solid state metal amps, there's light at the end of the tunnel with these retro designs! Microphone AND accordion inputs? That's my kinda amp, I love multiple input amps. Maybe I'm just crazy but I may just learn accordion so I can say it's used correctly. Yea, I'm crazy...

Nothing crazy about being inspired to play!

I felt the same way when I got my Ampeg Gemini II about 20 years ago. It was the first time I'd ever seen an accordion input on an amp and I was listening to a lot of They Might Be Giants at the time.

Now if Fender would only reissue a hand wired '61 Showman for about $400, life would be good......

Cool looking little amp, might be nice for those late night noodling sessions.

Both the Greta and the Excelsior look great - I really like the Greta!

Do want the Excelsior!

think I'll be buying another amp soon!

Plug in the outboard reverb unit and you'd have yourself a tasty small gig rig. Hmmmmmm.....

I've got two questions about Excelsior.

  1. How come it's so cheap, considering that fender moderately overprices it's stuff? If a Blues Jr costs 600 euros, what the heck is Excelsior made of?

  2. Don't the plastic cover lines in the front of the speaker affect/hinder in any way the sound?

Exclesior is made in China, and designed to compete with some of the ultra-cheap Chinese tube amps that have emerged in recent years (Sound City, Electra, cheap Oranges)

I'm curious because it seems a hella small box for a 15" speaker.
