When I read about a guide to tempos I was really expecting to see something more like this.

This resource is so timely, I was just pondering about how close in tempo surf music was to "ghettotech".

Danny-they sure did get it right. We use a drum machine as a duo, and that sucker is set between 155-165bpm on 85-90% of the Surf songs we do. Sure makes my job easier.

Ska and Surf on the same tempo. Hence Meshugga Ska Party and the Skankin' Deadbeats. A good number of their songs are essentially ska tunes. Laughing

But seriously, I guess it makes sense that I transitioned from a zany ska kid to a surf drummer.

Science friction burns my fingers.
