Whoops! Being a drummer I guess I just like drums loud in the mix. Looking forward to hearing more stuff, Klas.

No problem, Norman! It's just about preferences and having the drums at this level is part of the overall sound we are going for. — |

I've been trying to think of more instrumental fuzz but it isn't easy to come up with stuff not already mentioned in the thread. However, one related genre that had quite a lot of it was the spaghetti western scores. Here's Ennio Morricone's great "As A Judgement" from Once Upon A Time In The West: |

Man, I love that Morricone spaghetti western fuzz!! Here one of my long time favorites... Harmonica Man/Death Rattle (1968). This is one of the most haunting melodies every written in my opinion. The fuzz comes in around minute 1:00... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hL-X53ze5O0 —BOSS FINK "R.P.M." available now from DOUBLE CROWN RECORDS! |

Yeah, "Harmonica" is great as well and probably the most well known SW song including a fuzz. The one I posted sounds like a variation of it. — |

Here's another great fuzz piece from Morricone: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwgYDf58g5U — |

Cool thread, Hailz to the Fuzz! A spooky instrumental bass fuzz interlude from Electric Wizard- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQnMH32tEy0 Not instrumental, but The Del Vetts from '66 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSluwC6p_J4 — |

The Once Upon A Time in the West fuzz guitar: does anyone really know what guitar, fuzz and amp were used in the session? I've heard conflicting reports, including interviews with Morricone himself. |

I'm starting to think a lot of that stuff was done with a Fuzzrite or something similar, but I don't know. — |

The real question is if anyone knows what kind of fuzz, guitar and amp settings were used in the wild west? (First wave, of course.) — |

There's even Fuzz guitar from Africa in the early 1970's - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94Hw2kZmzN0 — |

Haha! Those two idiots are funny but yeah it can get irritating. This one time when we played at The Burnt Ramen(a punk rock squat) some people wher throwing a pillow around the damn' room. And this one dude kept throwing it at our drummer's kit. And it kept landing on the cymbals and fucking him up. So we threw it back at the crowd and this same guy throws it back and it lands right near my feet on stage. And next thing I did was kick it back at this MoFo and it hit him straight in the face haha, he stopped after. That shit was hilarious and it was a fun show but yeah he pissed me off a couple of times because he was laughing about it. Plus I know how protective our drummer can be with his things, especially with his vintage drum kit. Anyways here's some more Fuzz...... Check this song out by Issac Hayes called Walk on By. Fuzz at 00:43 secs. So awesome! Riot in Thunder Alley by Eddie Beram. But this song is credited to Richie Podolor I think. Oh and let's not forget Night of the Vampire by The Moontrekkers. —Last edited: Mar 23, 2010 18:27:01 |

I love this tune. So bouncy and creepy at the same time. —Site dude - S3 Agent #202 "It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea |

Haha. Yeah it's the drum beat that makes it sound so bouncy. I always picture some cartoon creeping around when I hear it. This song would have been great in one of those classic spooky Looney Tunes episodes. — |

Awesome! It's no wonder I love fuzz guitar as much as I do. My dad took me to see these Spaghetti Westerns when I was a kid. Great stuff! —BOSS FINK "R.P.M." available now from DOUBLE CROWN RECORDS! |

Haha, so awesome. Warren, what's the name of that character? I love those episodes. I was trying to look for some more characters but no luck. Found this picture for Norm though. |
